custom brandmark & Logo Reveal |Social media package | business cards
With this design I wanted to capture the change that Truth Youth decided to make. This concept was created according to the request for a branding that represented truth, unity, foundation, strength, and growth. The concept that we felt represented Truth Youth the most was the Flag & Shield combination.
The Flag has many symbolic references. Psalms 60:4 says, “You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth.” The Flag is a symbol of truth, strength, unity, foundation, & growth. Devotion to a flag is much more than an emotion. Soldiers reverenced their flags(truth).
Flags were critical in war as they marked the position of the regiment on the battlefield, which could often be a very confusing place. In the noise and smoke of battle, soldiers could become scattered, and vocal commands, or even bugle calls, could not be heard. So a visual rallying point was essential, and soldiers were trained to follow the flag.
The Flag is strong enough to stand on it’s own, but I wanted to add more of a dynamic to the brand mark and that is where the shield came in. Shields were painted with emblems or symbols to identify friend or enemy. Warriors needed to know where their leaders were, hence the custom of carrying a pole was adopted and subsequently the idea of flags began! The two symbols work hand in hand in proclaiming and protecting truth!
The typeface(font) used for Truth Youth is Sharp Sans. A typeface suited for both text and display use that breaths life into the genre of the geometric sans. Truth Youth is made up of young people which have a fresh energy but hold onto the timely truth of the gospel.(This is also a font that you might have seen used in the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Logo… This is very fresh and current).
The use of 3 colors is featured. Blue-Primary and Grey & White serving as Secondary. One of our goals was to create a logo that was both functional and eye-pleasing. Blue is most notable for invoking trust and we decided to utilize a flat version of that color which remains modern and inviting while still remaining exciting and simple.
This color scheme can be applied across all of your marketing material such as your website, postcards, hoodies, and so forth. The Brand mark not only works well on light backgrounds but also dark background. The logo can also be reproduced at any size and maintain readability. It can be a stand alone brand mark that is memorable, simple, & versatile. Below you can find several items that will show the functionality of the brand mark.
